The third Tales of Crestoria live stream has announced that the game's release has been moved to 2020. New characters, the Character Room and Attachments were introduced as well.
Delayed to 2020
The live stream opened up with apologies as the game has been moved from its original 2019 release date to 2020. Reasons for delaying the game include:
- Making the Main Story fully voiced in Japanese.
- To add expressions to the original characters.
- To illustrate more cut-ins.
There are more reasons for the delay, they say, but will be too many to mention. The main goal is to release a full "Tales" experience on smartphones.
Administrators of World Order
Introduced via a short new trailer are the two characters teased during the Tales of Crestoria segment of the Tales of Arise Stage during Tokyo Game Show 2019:
Machina
"I'm Machina, hi! And I've come to murder aaaaaaaalllll of the Transgressors!"
Voiced by Aoi Yuki. Designed by Daigo Okumura.
Machina is the commander of the Enforcers. Despite doing cruel things to Transgressors, she always wears a smile on her face.
Okumura-san has been designing for Tales for quite a while now. Some of his work include Ludger and Elle from Tales of Xillia 2 and Emil and Marta from Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.
Kasque
Voiced by Ai Nonaka. Designed by Koichi Itakura.
Kasque's information is shrouded in mystery. Itakura-san, Kasque's character designer, is known as the art director for God Eater and Code Vein, and has designed characters for God Eater. This is his first time designing for Tales.
Next Update: December 2019
On December, a new update will go live which will be focusing on the following:
- Update on the release date
- Introduction of in-game features
- Sneak preview of the animated opening movie
The official Tales of Crestoria English Twitter also released a video explaining the release date delay and introducing the two new characters:

In addition, the voice actors were allowed to play a bit of the game during battle. Some things of note were:
- The camera was fully rotatable or adjustable during battle while awaiting your commands
- On manual, you choose which characters attack first. If you go on auto, which by demo seems quite fast, the characters attack from left to right.
- Once your character's Over Limit gauge is full, he/she can activate Mystic Artes anytime.
Character Room
A new feature shown in the game is the character room, where players will be given a view to interact with a character's 3D model. Tapping the character will make him/her talk or say a voiced line.
The background image can also be changed and more backgrounds are unlocked as you progress the story. Depending also on the time, the background will adjust to either daytime or night time.
Attachments
Also under the Character Room are Attachments, which you can attach a wide array of on different parts of a character's body, namely the head, forehead, face, ears, neck, chin, shoulders, arms, chest, back and the behind.
Note that customizations with Attachments show up in battle, hence, hilarity ensues:
