Tales of Arise sold a lot, it seems, ranking first in the sales for 2021 of the Japanese PlayStation Store despite a September release.
Announced by PlayStation Japan in their annual digital sales rankings for the entirety of 2021, Tales of Arise has placed first in terms of digital sales under the PlayStation 5 category. This ranking does not include does who upgraded their PS4 versions to the PS5 versions of their respective games, if available.

This can be considered a huge feat given that the game released around the end of Q3.
Sadly however, the game did not rank in the North American and European rankings.
Tales of Arise is the latest mothership title (new classification: original title) of the Tales of Series which was first announced during Microsoft’s Press Conference in E3 2019. The game was released for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC Digital via Steam on September 9, 2021 for Asia and Japan and September 10, 2021 for the rest of the world. The game features use of the Unreal Engine 4 and works on the theme of tradition versus evolution of the series.
