UPDATE (04/14/2014): Gamestop had the game listed on their website earlier today, but it was taken down within an hour. This is what the entry looked like (thanks to cutepresea for the screenshot):
This doesn't verify anything other than the fact that Gamestop had it listed not once, but twice in their directories. It is still a RUMOR until we get word from Gamestop or Namco Bandai about the situation.
Some GameStop employees have informed us that as of yesterday, a game called "Tales of Heart" has been added to their games database. You can even pre-order it on GameStop branches.
The game is apparently listed in GameStop's printed pre-order list for $39.99. It was also apparently added to their computer database and is actually already available for pre-order if you go to a GameStop branch. So far, people are assuming that it's Tales of Hearts R for the PlayStation Vita.
With no news so far from Bandai Namco, this is filed as a RUMOR for now, so please take it with a grain of salt.
Tales of Hearts was originally for the Nintendo DS which is the first game to have a version with CG cutscenes aside from the usual animated ones. Later, it got a remake, or rather, a re-imagination for the PlayStation Vita in the form of Tales of Hearts R, featuring new 3D graphics, new content and turning one previously non-playable character to be playable.
First off, Famitsu confirms that this game is indeed a port of the previous Tales of the World: Tactics Union. Specifically, they're calling it an enhanced port - with voice acting, new cut-ins and that new art/forms for Tern and Nacht.
The rest of the scans talk mainly about the game's story, which we already delved into in our previous Tactics Union story post here.
The latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump reveals a new Tales of Zestiria character named Lyla, along with the game's genre and catchphrase, among other things.
The latest character is named Lyla ( ライラ, raira) and is voiced by Miyu Matsuki. She's designed by Mutsumi Inomata, the same as Mikulio. She's 172cm tall and uses papers (?) or book pages as a weapon.
"I have always been waiting - for the one who holds a genuine pure heart untouched by impurities - for the one who would be able to hear my voice."
Lyla is also a Tenzoku/Divine, specifically one who holds the element of Fire. She is the one who guides Slay to become a Doushi/Priest. Slay meets Lyla by chance in some sort of festival. She is an adult woman who is able to give precise advice, though at times, she can also be a little reckless with her strange and wild ideas. She forms a contract with Slay in order to make him a vessel of the Tenzoku, and in return, Slay will be able to get special powers.
In addition, Tales of Zestiria's "Tales genre" is "An RPG where passion lights up the world." It's catchphrase is "Tradition will one day become 'hope'." There are also screenshots showing Mikulio and Edna in battle, but they still haven't exactly revealed how Tenzoku )who are supposed to be invisible to humans) will be able to fight.
A voice novel for Tales of Vesperia which was announced a while back in VIVA Tales of Magazine has just been released today on the iTunes Apple App Store and on Google Play.
A Tales of Vesperia Gaiden, in the form of a voice novel that can be purchased via Bandai Namco JP's VoiNov app ( ボイノベ, boinobe) entitled "Tales of Vesperia: Convictor's Genealogy - One Meeting, Two Swords" has just been released today. The voice novel mainly focuses on the time when Yuri and Flynn were 7 years old and will feature illustrations.
The voice novel's story is written by Vesperia's Scenario Writer, with illustrations by the manga-ka of the Tales of Vesperia: Koku no Kamen manga. In addition, all voices have been newly recorded for the app.
The VoiNov app is currently available on both the and Google Play. The app itself is free and comes with a sample of the Vesperia voice novel, but it seems you'll have to actually buy the story (a part is apparently 400 Yen).
And this goes without saying that this is, indeed, in Japanese.
>> Tales of Asteria is Out on the Google Play Store in Japan!
Tales of Asteria is now available on the Google Play Store. Here's its Google Play page. It'll be released on the iTunes App Store later this Spring.
Just like Tales of Link, this app is free to download with in app purchases. Also like Tales of Link, you don't need to buy the in app purchases to get the full experience out of the app. It just speeds up certain elements in the game that can be obtained through patience.
If you want to learn more about Asteria's world and see its trailers, check out our previous news posts:
The biggest changes from Tactics Union to Reve Unitia include what seems to be new forms for the characters Tern and Nacht - they now have human-like forms with art by Daigo Okumura. In Tactics Union, Tern and Nacht are creatures part of the Rufres Clan, which act as Dream Keepers that purify dreams from nightmares. Their job is to summon the Awakened Dreamers (aka the Tales characters) to fight against the nightmares, or the Vules.
In addition, unlike Tactics Union, Reve Unitia will have fully voiced main dialogue, it seems. A welcome addition since Tactics Union barely had any voice acting whatsoever. Though Reve Unitia will be reusing Tactics Union's full body skit artwork, it seems that it'll have new artwork for Mystic Arte cut-ins (shown in the scan for Lloyd and Asbel).
So far, confirmed Tales characters include:
Lloyd Irving (Tales of Symphonia)
Asbel Lhant (Tales of Graces)
Natalia Luzu Kimlasca Lanvaldear (Tales of the Abyss)
Meredy (Tales of Eternia)
Yuri Lowell (Tales of Vesperia)
Jade Curtiss (Tales of the Abyss)
You can actually expect pretty much the same roster of Tales characters from Tales Union. You can see lists of characters from our previous posts here and here. You can view the better scan here.
Another lovely "holiday" is over. We were mainly overrun by these adorable, furry little creatures called the Oresoren, but luckily we're now back in full swing. We hope you enjoyed that little stunt!
And a special thanks to Remanoir for preparing this lovely Oresoren artwork for us! Follow her on Tumblr and DeviantArt, *ors*!
Oops, sorry. Trying to get rid of that.
That said, what I posted is partially true. As of April 1st, I've officially started my rounds as a clinical clerk in a hospital here, and due to my hospital duty schedules, I won't be able to keep an eye on AC as strictly as I did before. Expect some updates (especially the Japan updates that require translation) to be a bit delayed from time to time. If not, expect at least translations in said posts to be delayed.
Thank you and we hope you had a great laugh! To those who were actually offended, please liven up a little.
