    >> A Bunch of New Updates for ToV and ToS-R (plus Ring a Bell Download)

    a745

Aside from the updates posted by SV already, here're a few more:
    || This new Weekly Shonen Jump scan of ToV features Flynn Cifo (furen shiifo in romaji) and the dog that follows Yuri around, Rapede (rapiido in romaji)... You could actually consider Flynn as Guy's long lost twin with those looks.

    || This (EDIT: Scan link fixed. Sorry about that)V Jump Scan of ToS-R reveals a few new villains. One is named Brute or Bruto (buruto in romaji), who is agains the church of Martel and is after the Ratatosk Core. The other is Hoke, a commander in the Vanguards, and a rank lower than Alice and Decus. The scan also reveals that Mystic Artes are confirmed (for Emil as of now).

    || This interview from IGN reveals a few new things about ToS-R, mostly about how the battle system works. Remember how the game's battle system has an Elemental Grid at the bottom left? In order to use it and change the current element of the battle field, you have to execute 3 attacks of the element you want. Aside from that, looks like a Grade Shop will be available once you finish the game. They also have a bunch of new screenshots, all are already up in our ToS-R Gallery.

    || This interview from 1UP about ToS-R contains a bunch of screens (same as IGN's screens), as well as info on the monsters. There will be around 230 different monsters, broken down into 10 species and 33 subspecies. It also seems that you always have to have Marta and Emil within the battle, and the 2 other battle slots are only for other humans and monsters.

    || This preview of ToV from GameSpot reveals the name of goggles girl and hammer boy. Goggles girl's name is Rita, while hammer boy is Karol.

    || Lastly, this interview from 1UP reveals a bunch of info for ToV as well as some new English screenshots (in the gallery, here, link fixed). In terms of Xbox live, the online rankings they were talking about before include rankings for your hit count, game completion time, and scores for the mini games. Some items are also available for purchase for those who find it tiresome to search the game for the said items. You can also download experience points. There is a limit though, so don't expect to reach max level in a single download. They also mentioned that co-op playing via Xbox live will not be implemented.

As mentioned before, there was something about killing non-boss monsters with a single blow. This system replaces TotA's Field of Fonon system. You can use finishing moves to instantly kill a monster regardless of their HP, and this will usually lead to better item drops.

The Overlimit feature went through some improvements. There are four levels for the Overlimit gauge. At Level 1, Artes can be executed faster. At Level 2, you're free to cancel your Artes in battle. At Level 3, Mystic Artes become useable, and at Level 4, you can make a character invincible. You can use all four levels on one character, or evenly distribute them amongst your four battle party members.

And lastly, that feature before that talks about how the monster you engage in battle in can be joined in by a bunch of other monsters within the group is called "encounter linking."

By the way, they also mentioned Sword of Legendia here. Apparently, it's not a Tales Game.

And according to a translation by cutepresea, the Japanese intro of ToV will be called Kane wo Narashite, also by Bonnie Pink.

Thanks to Akari Mizunashi from our forum, we now have Bonnie Pink's Ring a Bell for download. This is the full version, I assume. Aside from that, we also have that ToV trailer from the ToR Preorder Bonus and the ToV English Trailer from GameTrailers up. Download links below:

A screen saver has also been posted on the Tales of Vesperia under the Download section (The second option). You need to install Adobe Flash 9 in order to use it though. I would like to show a preview, but it's not working for me right now.. S:

    >> Tales of Vesperia: Special Update (EDIT + English Trailer)

    SyphonVectorman
The Tales of Vesperia official website has been updated with a "Special" section. The section reveals to us two things:

    1) We now know the opening song for the game. It is known as Ring a Bell by BONNIE PINK. She also has her own website which contains a preview to the song, which is sort of cool. There's probably more, but this is based off of my bad Japanese translation skills, and I am unable to understand the entire post.

    2) The second page isn't much, but it's still nice to see. It is a list of all opening songs with vocals in them in chronological order. It ranges from Tales of Phantasia (Super Famicom) to the unreleased Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk/Dawn of a New World (Nintendo Wii). There is also an entry before the Tales of Phanatsia Super Famicom intro song, but I have no clue what it is.

If anyone can provide more information and have good knowledge of the Japanese language, it would be nice for you to share by commenting. (:

    EDIT:
Amazing, Gametrailers has posted the English Trailer for the game... Let's see what you guys think. blink1.gif

    >> Leave of Absence (For Real This Time O_o) + ToV ToR PSP Dramatic DVD Trailer

    a745
So, I told you guys before that I was applying for a summer job (I don't know about you guys but it's definitely summer here). Well, I got accepted ^_^/. Only problem is is that my shift requires me to be in the office (they gave me a full-pledged office job at this young age O_o) every Mondays-Saturdays, 8am-5pm until the week before the last week of summer vacation. And my job starts tomorrow. Not only that, but travel time to that place is approximately 1-2 hours. Same with coming from that place back home. That gives me barely an hour or so of internet time... T_T

So yes, I'll be away for a while, but I do intend to be online every single Sunday starting this week. And I'm sorry if I STILL haven't updated the following pages (actually, more than half of them are done, but I still haven't uploaded them >_<):
Tales of pages (practically all need a revamp, but specifically Vesperia and Destiny Director's Cut), Fan Pages (Tales Avatars, Signatures, Wallpapers, Fanarts, Sprite Comics, Fanfiction, and that new section I was planning), Media (Oh geez, a lot).

In ToI fashion, I bid all of you a BYE BYE! for now =D

P.S. We still need suggestions for the contest! Oh, and since I have a job this summer, expect the contest around June instead... (Excuse my overuse of emoticons XD)

EDIT by sukotsuto: Abby asked me to upload this video:

Description: The trailer that came with the preorder bonus of Tales of Rebirth PSP, the Dramatic DVD: Peach Pie. This was provided to us by eclisis from the Official Tales Forums. It's basically the same as the first trailer, but with a few added scenes.

    >> New ToS-DotNW Interview from Cubed3 + New ToV Estellieze Wallpaper

    a745
Thanks to Rena Chan from our forum for the heads up, a new interview of Teruaki Konishi, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World's (Knight of Ratatosk) producer and Hideo Baba, the Tales Brand manager has been revealed over at Cubed3. The interview talks mostly about what we already know, but here are a few new things to note:

    || Aside from choosing the point-click system of the world map in order to utilize the Wii-mote, the production team was also limited by the production schedule to actually make it the usual roaming around the world map thing.
    || Aside from using the Flex-Range LMBS (more commonly known as Free Run), the game will be having an Elemental Grid (you've probably seen this in previous screenshots, at the lower left corner). "The Elemental Grid allows the player to affect the dominant element of the battle field depending on the skills they use. The dominant element affects everything from the effectiveness of the character's attacks, to which characters will participate in Unison Attacks, to whether the player can tame enemy monsters at the end of each battle."
    || For the Guild system, it will be the Neko-nin guild. As usual, players go to the guild to accept quests, as well as manage monsters.
    || No plans to use WiiConnect24 or Nintendo Wi-Fi at this time.

    Other info unrelated to ToS-DotNW:
    || There are currently no plans to release Tales of Innocence overseas.
    || There was a rumor before that Tales of the Abyss would be remade for the Wii. That rumor is false.
    || They are evaluating whether a Tales for the WiiWare would be good. No news on that yet, but there's a possibility.

Also, we're glad to say that the target money for the contest has been reached!! Expect the contest around May or June... BUT! We need ideas guys! Please, if you have any idea on what contest would be good to hold, please, comment here! And this time, to be fair, you don't have to be a forum member to join. So please, we need your suggestions!

EDIT: In addition to that, thanks to Yuri Rowell for informing us, a wallpaper of Estellieze has been posted over at the Tales of Vesperia official site. They're now up at the gallery as well... Full view is your friend =D.

And we thought they'd stop after the 1st of April was done...

So anyway, thanks to aquary from the Tales Forums, we have info that the recent news on a Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon 4 game was simply an April Fool's Joke brought by a Japanese Tales fansite known as Tales of Surprise... and surprised we were indeed XD. To those who want to see exactly how the scan was created by their staff, click this wacky link.

Happy April Fool's everyone... -shoots self-
