Because people keep on asking... this is a report on the progress of the subs for ToV. This includes the English version only, not the multi-language release (we'll release the English subs first).
Note: All MKV versions are softsubbed save for the group logo and the karaoke.
We have set aside ToS to get the movie done as fast as we can. It's a big project, and is really taking our time (there are 1040 lines O_o), but we'll get it done as fast as we can.
EDIT: We will be using the official English names for the characters, except for those that do not have official English names (Elvin, Argos, Joe, etc.) and those that we think the official English names well, are bad (Garista Luodor and Niren Fedrok... we'll be using Galista Luodor and Nylen Fedrock).
This post is a compilation of all the news from the Tales of Festival 2010. Being busy with ToVFS's subs and my own life made me unable to do an up to date well, update, of the event like I did last year. Nonetheless, this is what I can manage for now. Day 1 Event News: As seen from this post, the partial results of the Fifth Tales of Series Popularity Poll were announced that day. The results include the General Top 30 Tales Characters and the Top 10 Tales Mascots.
Also announced during Day 1 was the confirmation of the third arc of Tales of Symphonia: The Animation. Recall before that they said they were planning a possible Derris-Kharlan arc. Well, this might be it. They are calling the third arc "The United World Episode".
Aside from misono being there to perform VS, Ninin Sankyaku and Starry Heavens, Hanako Oku was also there and performed live ToPNDX's opening theme, Glass Flower while the game's opening video was being played on the big screen behind her.
Day 2 Event News: Not much happened today. Aside from the announcement of the rest of the popularity poll results, the only main events were skits, voice talk, Golden Victory, a lot of "KUREEAAAAA" and some peach pie, and live performances by artists again. No additional news so far, so we'll update this post for any new info.
A part of the popularity poll results have been put up again (Nore's Blog), this time, for the top ideal characters to have as your older brother or older sister.

It is still currently the night event of the festival, so expect the results for the ideal combination ranking to come up soon. This post will be edited later with the results. Results for the Ideal Combination Ranking have been floating around the net, but I'm unable to find a reliable source to confirm these results. The results for the other polls are not yet up, they will probably be available tomorrow as the festival continues.
So, this is the "something big" we had in store for everyone for our sub of Tales of Vesperia ~The First Strike~. This has been a plan of ours for some time now, so we'd love to have it realized using The First Strike.
Aside from the English subs, AC will also be having subs of the movie in German, French, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Italian and Indonesian. That's why, we'll be needing people to help us in this endeavor. Basically, Yume, our translator, will be the one to translate the movie script from Japanese to English. The English script will then be handed over to translators of their assigned language for them to work on.
Keep in mind that releasing the English sub first is our main priority, so don't think we would be overly delayed because of this. We will be releasing the usual XviD SD and the MKV HD (in English subs) and one file that will have the subs for all languages available (MKV HD only, no SD).
So, if you think you have enough mastery of your language, please comment in this post to apply. It would be a big help to us^^. We'll probably need at least two people for each language, one to translate, and one to check the translation (or both to just collaborate on the translation).
EDIT: Yume and Zel, our translators for French and German, respectively, said that they wouldn't mind having someone else to work with, provided that the additional translator for checking and editing must have played Tales of Vesperia in that language. That said, indicate if you have played the game in the particular language you are applying for.

First off, this new scan from Weekly Shonen Jump reveals a new character for the upcoming Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X (Cross).
Rondorine/Londorine (rondoriine, ロンドリーネ ) VA: Kitamura Eri -- Rondorine is a bright and positive young woman. Using some kind of ability to travel to the past and future time lines, she travels around in search of Dhaos. Her nickname is Rody/Lody (rodi, ロディ ). From the screen shots in the scan, Rody is a playable character. Also according to the scan, it seems that Rody will be making an appearance in Tales of Phantasia X Edition.
Also in the scan is new art and info for Dhaos. His VA is still Toshiyuki Morikawa.
Dhaos (daos, ダオス ) -- The Demon Lord that Cless and the others should have defeated in the past. He now reappears before Mel and Dio, though what he's after and his intentions are still unclear.

-- Fansubbing Updates A big thanks to all who applied for the karaoke and the AFX typesetter positions. Both positions have already been filled. I apologize if I haven't replied to some of you, as there were a whole lot of applications, and I have been busy with school. Hopefully, we would have released ToS (both Sylvarant 1-4 and Tethe'alla episode 1) before the month of May ends.
We also have something big in store for our subs Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike. Info on what this something big is will be up in a few days.
